Converting WebP files can be done three ways: taking a screenshot, using MS Paint or Preview, and using free software.

Taking a screenshot

A simple method of converting a webp into an image file is to take a screenshot of it. A better approach: look at the original web image and take a screenshot of it. However, the quality might not be as good. Below are other methods to consider if you desire the best quality possible.

MS Paint for Windows

The easiest method is to use the Save as a feature of MS Paint on a Windows computer. You can download the program from the Microsoft Store or check whether the program is already installed on your computer.

1. Go to the File menu.
2. Then, select Open.
3. Locate and select your file.
4. Hit OK.
5. Hit the File button again.
6. Choose Save As.
7. Select JPEG picture.
8. Choose a folder and click Save.

Mac: Preview
If you have a Mac, you can use Preview, which comes preinstalled.

1. To duplicate, click File > Duplicate.
2. Once it has been duplicated, close it.
3. Once you have saved it in a new format, it will ask you to duplicate it again.
4. Select JPG from the menu.
5. Optionally, you can resize the picture by moving the quality slider.
6. After that, click Save.
